This week’s Sunday Salon post will be short, as I read very little in the past week. It took me until Thursday to finish Their Eyes Were Watching God, partly because I never got that into it, and partly because I was busy. I read quite a bit on Monday since it was a holiday, but then between work and having various evening activities four evenings in a row, I didn’t have much time to read during the week. Amazingly, I have yet to start a new book since Thursday! It is a little unusual for me to go quite this long without any book in progress, but I’m not entirely sure what I feel like reading next. I have been reading a couple magazines but nothing particularly grabbing. Mostly, I’ve been busy with other things besides reading: social events Friday night and Saturday morning, messing around with my new (used) bicycle Saturday afternoon, watching a movie Saturday night, and going for a hike today. Usually I feel a little lost if I am not in the middle of the book, but I haven’t felt that too much this weekend. In any case, I do intend to start a book soon (possibly tonight); probably Anathem, by Neal Stephenson, because it is sitting on the bookshelf and the closest libary is closed until Tuesday.
