The Jewel That Was Ours: An Inspector Morse Mystery, by Colin Dexter, is the second Inspector Morse mystery I’ve read, and I enjoyed it just as much. I don’t have to much to say about except that it makes excellent, but decently intelligent, light reading. Dexter has a unique style and writes well, so that the writing actually contributes to the enjoyment of reading his books. His plots are also quite complicated and well-woven. The plot in this book was even more complex than in the previous one I read – I didn’t figure it out at all. So there you go, possibly my shortest review ever, but for a book I definitely recommend!
